Sinharaja Rainforest Trek
Overview
Sinharaja is Sri Lanka's last large patch of primary tropical rainforest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On this full day trek you walk through shaded forest trails with a local guide, past tall trees, hanging vines, streams and hidden pools, learning about the plants and animals that live here.
We collect you from Weligama or your nearby hotel and drive to the reserve. The forest is home to many endemic birds, butterflies, frogs and reptiles, and with a good guide you may also see monkeys and giant squirrels. The rainforest is wet and humid, so wildlife sightings vary from day to day, but the walk itself is always a cool, green escape.
